No trip to the southeastern end of Alaska is complete without a stop in Ketchikan. The wildlife and history of this town is unique, and the culture is neat to experience. There are plenty of good places to stay in Ketchikan. Here's a list of some of the good places.
• Best Western Landing. This is a nicer upper-end place to stay in Ketchikan near there Marine Ferry Terminal. You won't be disappointed with this choice. Expect to pay $80-140 per night. 907-225-5166.
• Gold Coast Lodge. This is a great place to stay for fishing expeditions. You can get complete fully-guided fishing packages here. It's near Cape Chacon. 907-225-8375.
• Mink Bay Lodge. This is a good place to stay for any kind of wilderness outing. It's south of the town of Ketchikan, Alaska, by about 45 miles and provides plenty of fishing spots. 907-225-3875.
• Waterfall Resort. This resort is west of Ketchikan about an hour and offers full service places to stay, including plenty of entertainment for those who enjoy the wilderness and for those who don't. 907-225-9461.
• Ingersoll Hotel. This is a historic hotel in the heart of Ketchikan. This hotel was built in the late 1920s and offers some nice accommodations. This hotel is at 303 Mission Street. 907-225-2124.
• Yes Bay Lodge. This is outside of Ketchikan and is a great place to plan your fishing excursion around. You should certainly call ahead for reservations. 907-225-3875.
• Westmark Cape Fox Lodge. This is an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing and secluded retreat. It's not cheap, but definitely worth the money you'd pay. 907-225-8001.
• Gilmore Hotel. This is one of the best places to stay, if you're going to be in Ketchikan. This hotel is on the National Historic Register as one of the country's historical sites. If you stay here, you'll also get a great view. There really isn't a bad room to stay at in this hotel. 907-225-9423.
